Earth Day 2009


Planning (before and during event)

1. Organizations: inviting all environmental and social awareness organizations, set up
2. Food Court: food booths, assisting with food court set up, quality control
3. Green Vendors: locating and inviting all eco and green vendors, set up
4. Dept of Transportation: inviting all electric, hydrogen and alternative fuel vehicles to display, set up
5. Dept of Energy: inviting all solar, wind, hydrogen, and alt energy displays and education, set up
6. Dept of Agriculture: organic farmers, sustainability, permaculture, bio dynamics, set up
7. Main Stage: scheduling, stage manager, music, speakers
8. Community Stage: scheduling, stage manager, music, speakers
9. North Shore Heritage Park Banner Making: painting a 10ft x 50ft cloth map of entire park for aerial photo

Publicity

1. Postering: putting up posters and keeping them up
2. Banners: putting up and maintaining roadside banners
3. Media Contacts: newspapers, radio, TV, press releases, articles in papers, advertising, others
4. Web site: design, development and maintenance

Set Up (Saturday all day and Sunday early morning)

1. Transportation: pick up and delivery of tents, stages, sound system, tables, chairs, etc.
2. Construction: build stages, set up tents, make dish washing station
3. Electrical: extension cords, lighting, generator, hopefully solar or wind generation
4. Plumbing: dish washing station drainage, hoses, water filter stations
5. Decorations: stage backdrop and decor, flags, flowers

During Event

1. Parking: set up, maintain traffic flow, collecting $5 parking fee
2. First Aid Station: medially trained and wholistic
3. Information & Hospitality Booth: assist public, food & drinks for musicians, performers & speakers
4. Sound & Video: audio engineers, stage hands, audio and video recording, main stage & community stage
5. Keiki Fun Center: face painting, activities, art, clowns, games, fun, supervision
6. Toilets: keep them clean, flowing, stock toilet paper
7. Money Collection Angels: passing the bucket thru the audience, collection stations near entrances
8. Security Peace Keepers: be ready to handle situations, watch stage and sound equipment, late night
9. Recycling & Garbage: set up and maintenance of recycling stations, trash cans

Breakdown

1. Sunday Night: sound equipment, tents, tables, trash hauling and clean up, staying to the very end
2. Monday Morning: stage breakdown, hauling and returning equipment, dump run and recycling
